Lakes and viewpoints by bus: reachable, walkable, and not

Sete Cidades

The lakes stop is the last stop of all three crater lines; on weekdays the direct 205 arrives at 09:30 and the 208 at 16:15, on Saturdays the 208 arrives at 09:00 and 16:20, on Sundays and holidays at 10:30 and 17:59 ^{[source, source]}. Furnas and its lake

Line 318 prints Furnas (Lagoa) on the road past the lake before the village, at 10:24 on the 09:00 trip from Ponta Delgada on every day type, and both the 110 and 318 print the village stops from which the lake is a walk ^{[source, source]}. The caldeiras on the north shore, where the cozido pots are buried, have no printed stop ^[source].

Lagoa do Fogo

The crater lake in the Água de Pau massif is the highest lake on the island and is protected from any building around it ^[source]. No AzoresBus line prints a stop at the lake or on the mountain road to it ^[source]. The nearest printed stops are in Água de Pau and Ribeira Chã on the south-coast lines 314, 315 and 318, at the foot of the massif; from there the lake is a long climb on foot, and the timetables describe nothing above the coast road ^{[source, source]}.

Nordeste viewpoints

Line 105 to Nordeste prints Sto. António Nordestinho (Miradouro) and Ribeira dos Caldeirões, the waterfall park, at 08:16 on the 06:45 trip from Ponta Delgada every day, and at 17:45 on the 16:15 trip at weekends ^[source]. Miradouro do Sossego and Miradouro da Madrugada, the picnic-park viewpoints on the road to Povoação, are printed stops only on line 112, which leaves Vila do Nordeste at 09:45 and Povoação at 15:00 on Tuesdays and Thursdays ^[source].

Mosteiros

The rocks and sea pools of Mosteiros, below the Sete Cidades crater, are at the end of line 206, which arrives at Mosteiros (Banda de Além) at 08:55 on the first weekday and Saturday trip and at 10:08 on Sundays ^[source].
