Atlânticoline’s selector takes origin, destination and date; SATA Air Açores is the inter-island air operator identified by its own site.

Make your visit work

  • A port in the selector is not proof of a sailing on your date. Check availability, reserve and recheck status with the operator.

Search the actual date

Atlânticoline asks for origin, destination and date, then shows the available ferry journey. SATA Air Açores is the inter-island air operator. Search each leg, including the return, before choosing a multi-island itinerary.

Know your port

Some islands have several selectable ports. Match the booked port to the address of your next stay and check how you will leave the port after arrival. A port in a selector does not mean a sailing operates every day.

Keep the journey flexible

Check operator notices near departure, especially when changing islands ahead of a long-haul flight. Ferries and flights are different services with different booking and check-in rules; use each operator’s current instructions.

How much luggage can I take on the ferry?

Atlânticoline’s boarding page lists, under “No fees”, two pieces of checked luggage and one piece of hand luggage of at most 60 × 50 × 25 cm. Luggage of non-standard size may be charged at the Unaccompanied Baggage tariff and always depends on space on the vessel. Carry-on bags may not contain drinks or food, except food for babies, children and the sick, and the operator advises keeping valuables in your hand luggage.

When do I need to be at the port?

Atlânticoline sets boarding deadlines of up to 10 minutes before departure for passengers, 20 minutes for vehicles and 30 minutes for unaccompanied baggage, and warns that missing them may result in denied boarding. Have your ticket and a personal identification document ready. Passengers with reduced mobility and passengers travelling with children board first. Work back from that deadline to the last bus that reaches the port.

How will I hear if my sailing changes?

Atlânticoline’s app lets you book, keep digital tickets and check in, and, in the operator’s words, “receive real-time notifications about schedule changes, delays, or cancellations”. Changes are also posted on its site: on 14 October 2026 it carried notice 163_2026, an itinerary change to the Green Line for 16 October. Book the return leg with the outward one, then re-check both on the day; a wind reading on this site is never a sailing status.
