AzoresBus prints a separate “Domingos e Feriados” column where a line runs on Sundays and public holidays, and nothing where it does not. Counted from the line PDFs in force on 14 October 2026: 28 lines have such a column, 28 have none, and the expresses are among the ones that stop. Holidays follow the Sunday column, so this page is the one to read before a feriado too.

Make your visit work

  • On a Sunday or holiday, plan only with lines that print a DF or SDF column, and buy a day pass on Saturday.

Which lines run on Sundays and public holidays?

28 of the 56 lines print a DF (Sundays and public holidays) or SDF (weekends and holidays) column: lines 101, 102, 103, 105, 109, 110, 111, 206, 208, 212, 217, 219, 301, 303, 305, 306, 311, 312, 315, 316, 317, 318, 328, 335, N02, N03, N04 and N05. A column usually has fewer rows than the weekday one, and on some lines it carries a JS mark, June to September only, so a summer Sunday and a winter Sunday are not the same timetable. The night lines N02 to N05 keep a Sunday column; N01 does not.

Which lines do not run at all?

28 lines print no Sunday or holiday column: lines 108, 112, 200, 202, 203, 205, 210, 211, 216, 218, 221, 222, 223, 302, 304, 307, 313, 314, 319, 321, 322, 323, 324, 325, 326, E01, E02 and N01. That includes line 205, the weekday bus to Sete Cidades via Candelária, the airport-area lines 200, 202 and 203, and the E01 and E02 expresses to Nordeste and Furnas. If your plan rests on one of these, it is a Monday-to-Saturday plan at best, and for several of them a school-day plan.

Which day trips still work on a Sunday?

Sete Cidades: line 208 prints 2 Sunday trips from the Alfândega and 2 back; line 205 does not run. Furnas: line 110 prints 2 trips each way on a Sunday, the same as on a weekday. Lagoa: line 311 prints 2 all-year Sunday departures and 1 return. Vila Franca do Campo: line 315 prints 3 out and 4 back. Nordeste: line 105 prints 3 Sunday departures and 4 returns from the far end of the island. The line pages carry the printed times, dated.

Can I buy a ticket or a day pass on a Sunday?

The two published ticket offices list no Sunday opening: Ponta Delgada opens on weekdays and Saturday mornings, Ribeira Grande on weekdays only. Single tickets are sold on board. Whether a network day pass can be bought from the driver is not published, so if you arrive on a Saturday and want a pass for Sunday, buy it on Saturday morning in Ponta Delgada; the tickets guide explains the passes and what they cost.

What happens on a public holiday?

The operator’s legend reads “Domingos e Feriados”, so a public holiday runs on the Sunday column of every line that has one, and a line with no DF or SDF column does not run. The PDFs do not list which dates count as holidays, and this site does not either. Do not confuse this with the FE columns: the legend defines FE-U as “Férias Escolares - Dias Úteis”, school holidays on business days, a separate season from A-DF, “Domingos e Feriados”. Treat a feriado exactly as a Sunday and read the DF column.
