What the weather decides here

  • The climb to Lagoa do Fogo No line prints a stop at the lake. From Água de Pau the lake is a long climb on foot, and the ridge makes its own weather: a clear coast does not promise a clear crater.
  • The rim above Sete Cidades Vista do Rei has no printed stop; it is a climb from the Lagoas stop in the village. When the rim is in cloud, the lakes cannot be seen from the viewpoint.
  • The Furnas lake circuit The lake and the hot springs are walks on the valley floor, inland, between the printed stops of two lines that enter the valley from opposite coasts.
  • Walks that start at a printed stop Only walks that begin and end at a printed stop are recommended on this site; the Salto do Prego trail from Faial da Terra depends on a weekday line.

These are measured weather readings, not a service status. We do not infer from a reading whether a bus is running; the operator’s timetable, linked from every line page, is the source for that.
