What Ribeira Quente does best

Ribeira Quente sits at the mouth of the Furnas river, down a tunnel road from the valley. Its beach is famous for warm water seeping from the volcanic ground. The village is reached by a short line from Furnas and by the south-coast line from Ponta Delgada on its way to Povoação.

Praia do Fogo

The village beach with its warm patches is the main reason to come down from the valley.

Fish restaurants

The harbour restaurants are a lunch option that the Furnas timetable can be built around.
