The lookout and official crater trail offer different levels of commitment; check weather and the walk before choosing.

Make your visit work

  • Open the official trail page for current notices and choose a return route before starting.

Getting there

The official trail directory lists Cara do Índio (PR01) and Caldeirão (PRC02). Check the downloadable map for the walk you choose and its start point. For a viewpoint visit without hiking, arrange a road ride to Miradouro do Caldeirão rather than looking for an attraction entrance.

Plan the way back

The trail pages do not establish a return bus. Use the map to confirm where your chosen walk ends, check visibility and current notices, and arrange the return to Vila do Corvo before heading uphill.
